Tax Saving Tips India 2026 — Tax Kam Karne Ke 10 Legal Tarike

Salaried employees, self-employed professionals, aur small-business owners ke liye.

1. Section 80C Max Out Karo — ₹1.5 lakh

PPF, ELSS, EPF top-up, NSC, SSY, life insurance premium ya 5-year tax-saving FD mein invest karo. ELSS mutual funds ka lock-in sabse chhota (3 saal) hai aur historical return sabse zyada hai.

2. Section 80CCD(1B) NPS Add Karo — ₹50,000

80C ke upar extra. Additional deduction sirf old regime mein milta hai.

3. Health Insurance — Section 80D

Self & family ke liye ₹25,000 + senior-citizen parents ke liye ₹50,000. Preventive health check-up bhi ₹5,000 tak cover hota hai.

4. Home-Loan Interest — Section 24(b)

Self-occupied house property pe ₹2 lakh tak interest. Principal portion (₹1.5L tak) 80C ke under qualify karta hai.

5. HRA Exemption

Agar rent pe rehte ho, toh HRA claim karo (minimum of: actual HRA / rent paid − 10% basic / metros mein 50% basic). Agar rent > ₹1 lakh/yr hai toh rent receipt & landlord ka PAN lo.

6. Employer NPS — 80CCD(2)

Employer ka NPS mein (basic + DA) ka 14% tak contribution tax-free hai — aur dono regimes mein available hai.

7. Education Loan Interest — Section 80E

Higher-education loan pe poora interest 8 saal tak deductible hai, koi upper limit nahi hai.

8. LTA — Leave Travel Allowance

4 saal ke block mein 2 baar domestic travel ke liye LTA claim karo (sirf old regime mein).

9. Donations — Section 80G

Approved funds (PM CARES, PM National Relief Fund, kayi registered NGOs) ko donations pe 100% ya 50% deduction.

10. Long Term Ke Liye Equity Mein Invest Karo

Listed equity pe ₹1.25 lakh se upar ki LTCG pe 12.5% tax lagta hai — aapki slab rate se bahut kam. SIPs ke saath combine karo — SIP Calculator dekho.

₹10 lakh salary example: Max 80C ₹1.5L + NPS ₹50K + 80D ₹25K + HRA ₹1.2L + home-loan interest ₹2L → taxable income gir ke ~₹4.5L → old regime mein almost zero tax.
