Nominal vs real return — wo antar jo matter karta hai

Nominal return wo headline number hai jo aapka bank ya fund batata hai — jaise FD par 7%. Real return wo hai jo inflation ke khaane aur tax ke katne ke baad bachta hai. Agar aapki FD 7% kamati hai, aap 30% tax dete hain (bacha 4.9%), aur inflation 6% hai, to aapka real return lagbhag −1% hai. Aapki rupaye ki amount badhti hai, par asli buying power ghatti hai.

Real return kaise nikalta hai

Pehle, tax aapka return ghatata hai: post-tax return = nominal × (1 − tax%). Phir inflation ko exact Fisher formula se hataya jaata hai:

real return = ((1 + post-tax return) ÷ (1 + inflation)) − 1

Ek quick approximation hai sirf post-tax return − inflation, par upar wala formula exact hai. Ye calculator exact version use karta hai aur aapki chuni period par compound karke paise ki inflation-adjusted keemat dikhata hai.

Real return kya hai?

Real return aapke nivesh ka return hai jo inflation (aur aksar tax) ke adjustment ke baad bachta hai. Agar aapki FD 7% kamati hai par inflation 6% hai, to aapka real return sirf lagbhag 1% hai — yahi aapki purchasing power ki asli badhat hai.

Real return kaise nikalta hai?

Exact formula hai: real return = ((1 + post-tax return) / (1 + inflation)) − 1. Jaise, 30% tax wala 7% return 4.9% post-tax deta hai; 6% inflation par real return (1.049 / 1.06) − 1 ≈ −1% yani thoda negative.

Kya mera real return negative ho sakta hai?

Haan. Oonche tax bracket walon ke liye poori tarah tax wali FD mein ye common hai. Agar inflation aur tax milakar aapke nominal return se zyada hon, to rupaye ki amount badhne ke bawajood paisa samay ke saath purchasing power khota hai.

Nivesh ke liye inflation kyun matter karti hai?

Inflation chupchaap aapke returns ko khaati hai. 6% inflation rate lagbhag 12 saal mein paise ki keemat aadhi kar deti hai. Sachmuch daulat banane ke liye aapka post-tax return inflation ko haraana chahiye — wahi antar aapka real return hai, aur wahi asal mein aapka paisa badhata hai.
